 The shortest verse in the Bible is also the most emotional and powerful: Jn. 11:35  We often view Jesus as a “superman”; but He was the “Son of Man.”  We should be thankful Jesus shared our humanity: Heb. 2:

 They speak of Jesus’ human nature:  Gospel of Mark reveals Jesus as the “Son of Man” 14 times.  He is rightly portrayed as a servant of action: Mk. 10:45 4

 They speak of Jesus’ human feelings and emotions:  He loved little children: Mk. 10:16  He took a damsel by the hand: Mk. 5:41  He was angry: Mk. 3:5  He felt love: Mk. 10:21  He sighed: Mk. 7:34; 8:12 5

 They speak of Jesus’ human feelings and emotions:  He had compassion: Mk. 6:34  He was hungry: Mk. 11:12  He became tired: Mk. 6:31  He slept: Mk. 4:38; Heb. 2:

 They speak of Jesus’ sympathy:  Jesus wept tears of sympathy.  Mary, Martha and Lazarus were close, dear friends  Jesus felt their sorrow and shared their tears: Heb. 4:15 7

 They speak of Jesus’ love:  Those who saw Jesus’ tears proclaimed, “See how He loved him!”  Jesus loved Lazarus as a friend; His tears showed the depth of His love for Lazarus and his sisters. 8

 “Does Jesus Care?” 9 Does Jesus care when my heart is pained too deeply for mirth or song. As the burdens press, and the cares distress, and the way grows weary and long? O yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long night dreary, I know my Savior cares. Does Jesus care when my way is dark with a nameless dread and fear? As the daylight fades into deep night shades, does He care enough to be near? O yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long night dreary, I know my Savior cares.

 “Does Jesus Care?” 10 Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed to resist some temptation strong; When for my deep grief there is no relief, tho’ my tears flow all the night long? O yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long night dreary, I know my Savior cares. Does Jesus care when I’ve said “goodbye” to the dearest on earth to me, And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks, is it aught to Him? Does He see? O yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long night dreary, I know my Savior cares.

 “Does Jesus Care?”  Yes! Absolutely without questions!  He shed tears for those lost in sin.  He grieves for those straying from the truth.  He weeps for those who are hurting or eternally lost: Jn. 15:

 They speak of Jesus’ anger:  He was angry at sin, Satan and death!  God finds no joy in the death of men; He is angry at death: Ezek. 18:23,

 They speak of Jesus’ compassion:  He knew the misery, pain, anguish and suffering that would befall Jerusalem (Matt. 24:21-22; Lk. 21:23-24).  He knew thousands would die horrible deaths and thousands more would suffer the humiliation of exile into slavery.  When we are in pain and troubles, Jesus weeps for us! 13

 They speak of Jesus’ righteous wrath:  He rebuked the Pharisees for their envy, self-righteousness,hypocrisy and ignorance: Matthew 23  Their ignorance was willful, thus sinful; it led to their destruction.  Thus, Jesus shed tears born of righteous indignation: 2 Peter 3:9 14

 They speak of Jesus’ loneliness:  He had spoken to vast crowds; multitudes had followed Him.  But in His darkest hour He was all alone: Matt. 26:40 15

 They speak of Jesus’ agony:  Job said, “…man is born unto trouble”: Job 5:7  Jesus was “a man of sorrows”: Isa. 53:3-4; Matt. 26:38  Jesus prayed in agony: Lk. 22:44 16

 They speak of Jesus’ betrayal:  He knew His betrayer, He was well acquainted with the traitor!  Jesus cried for Judas leading Him to the slaughter.  Jesus weeps today for those who betray Him! 17

 They speak of Jesus’ obedience: Heb. 5:7-9  Obedience is expensive!  Obedience requires suffering, sorrow and tears: Heb. 12:3-4 18

 Jesus shed tears so He could wipe away our tears: Rev. 21:4  Have you obeyed the gospel?  Are you growing as a Christian?  Do you “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness”? Matt. 6:33  You can end His tears today! 2 Cor. 6:2 19
