Does God Feel Our Pain?

Hebrews 2:9-10 (NIV) “But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honour because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone…

…In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.”

Hebrews 4:15 (NIV) “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.”

In John Chapter 1...John describes how Jesus became a man..."He became flesh, and dwelt among us !“ Hebrews 2:18 tells us in that he himself suffered temptation, he is able to help them that are tempted.

The prophet Isaiah wrote of Christ seven hundred years before his birth, and describes him with these words..."He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: (malady, anxiety, calamity)

Does God know our pain? Yes he does because he became one of us!

Does God know our pain, yes because... 1. You Will Find God In The Storms! 2. You Will Find God Among The Suffering! 3. You Will Find God Among The Sorrowful! 4. You Will Find God Among The Sinful!

1. You Will Find God In The Storms!

Why does God allow storms? Why suffering? Could it be because it is in the storms that we see him...that we find him...that we cry out to him...that we depend upon him.

2. You Will Find God Among The Suffering!

Matt 9:35-36 - “And when Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.”

Jesus spent time in the temple...but he spent a large amount of his time out in the streets, and on the hillsides with people who were suffering. He sensed their pain, and was moved with compassion as he saw them suffer!

3. You Will Find God Among The Sorrowful!

John 11 gives the account of the death of Lazarus one of his dearest friends. There we read one of the most amazing verses in the Bible...V35 "Jesus wept“ Why did Jesus weep? Was it over the death of his friend Lazarus? Was it when he saw the weeping of those that loved Lazarus that caused him to weep as well. Whatever, He felt for them, he sensed their pain, and he wept!

4. You Will Find God Among The Sinful!

Mark 2:15 “And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him!”

Look for Jesus in the Bible and you’ll find him at the home of a sinful man eating lunch... Look for Jesus and you’ll find him in Samaria talking to a sinful woman by a well... Look for Jesus and you’ll find him in a cemetery with a man possessed by a demon... Look for Jesus and you’ll find him on a cross dying for sinners!
