Messages to IPWG - general Incorporate decision makers from beginning of the project / tailor delivery of science into the application –requirement in the composition of the GEO Flagships & Initiatives? Development of Knowledge Base with best practices/compelling examples that showcase how data, technology and communities move from basic to applied research, decision-making foundational Task?

Messages to IPWG - GEOSS GEOSS needs to facilitate new data (big data) integration and to address policies, privacy etc.: e.g., anonymization, processes to control use, legal interoperability, quality labeling/trust processes. Need to address data citation / DOI issues. E-infrastructure—needed to support open access, legal interoperability, education/changing data culture. Effort to strengthen cooperation supported by coordination, sharing infrastructure and data is needed. GEOSS could serve as forum for airing issues and problems (complementary to other efforts?)

Messages to IPWG – private sector Shape GEO to involve a bigger constituency Can private sector orgs participate in GEO? As part of national memberonly?
