Countee Cullen was born March January 9 th. Born in either New York, Baltimore or Lexington, Kentucky.

A Poet, anthologist, novelist, translator, children’s writer, and a play writer. Was a huge voice of the Harlem Renassance.

At NYU he wrote most of his poems for his first 3 novels. Graduated from college in 1923 from NYU Soon After transferred to Harvard to get his masters degree

Counte e Cuullen was the author of a very famous book “Color” released in 1925 a book of poetry that established itself as a expression of the times. He didn’t gain fame until many years after he died.

People still to this day study what he use to talk about in his poems because he was talking about what was going on during the segregation times. The poems he wrote are inspirational to everyone then and now.

Was adopted in 1918 by reverned Fredrick A. and Carolyn Belle Cullen. Went to Harvard University College No one really knows where he was born
