2 Why I chose Atwood? The reason why I chose Margaret Atwood is because all of the poems that she writes refers mostly to her and also the poems she writes its like a mystery. Only at the end it will tell who or what she is talking about. The reason why I chose Margaret Atwood is because all of the poems that she writes refers mostly to her and also the poems she writes its like a mystery. 3 Throughout her Life Margaret Atwood was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, in 1939. Later on in her life she with her family to Canada in 1945 to Toronto. When she was 11 she spent half of each year in the Ontario Wilderness. Her father had to work an insect scientist. When her father was out working she would spend most of her time writing. When she was at the age of 6 years old writing morality plays, poems, comic books and had started a novel. Through out high school she returned to writing poetry, also school and preadolescence gave her a taste of home economics. As a teen Edgar Allan Poe was her favorite writer, and was famous for his dark mystery stories. At the age of 16 she pursued her life into writing as her lifetime career. She received a Bachelor’s at Victoria College, University of Toronto, where she studied. Later on she went to complete her master’s degree at Radliffe College in Massachusetts.
