Filter Media-Teflon

Teflon Uses Teflon Uses  In line collection point for pesticides and polyaromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) Purpose Purpose  Collection of select contaminants  Serves as “capture” point of sampling train for later analysis

Filter Media-Teflon Pesticide sampling Pesticide sampling  Teflon has resistance to mild corrosive properties of some pesticides PAH sampling PAH sampling  Teflon can be used at high temperature ranges, making it applicable to a wide variety of PAH sampling situations

Filter Media-Teflon Operating parameters Operating parameters  Requires high-flow pump  47mm cassette filter holder  Pesticides(.2-1L/min)  PAHs(2L/min)

Filter Media-Teflon Method of analysis Method of analysis  Pesticides  Gas chromatography(GC)  Flame photometric detection(FPD)  PAHs  HPLC  Fluorescence/UV detection

Filter Media-Teflon Calibration is performed with representative Teflon sampling media in line Calibration is performed with representative Teflon sampling media in line  Rotameter  Flow is calibrated against ball “floating” in air in the chamber  Bubble tube(Manual or Electronic)  Flow is calibrated by timing bubble travel speed in vertical column
