acoustics – the study of sound echolocation – the process of locating objects by emitting sounds and interpreting the reflected sound waves

Uses of Sound ultrasound – any wave with over 20,000 Hz in frequency There are several medical uses for ultrasonic waves.
Uses of Ultrasound Ultrasonic waves are used to produce images of internal structures. ex) monitoring an unborn baby; images of internal organs (heart)
Uses of Ultrasound Ultrasonic waves can be used to treat certain medical problems. ex) breaking up kidney stones and gallstones
