As an LIO You Should Have A Copy of the Latest “Little League Operating Manual” (the White Book) A Copy of the Latest Baseball and Softball “Official Regulations and PLAYING RULES” (the “small” rulebooks) You Need to be VERY FAMILIAR with The Rules & Regulations of Little League – You don’t have to be an Expert, but the more you know the better off you will be.

What’s Next? If you don’t have a copy of “A Year in the Life of Hometown Little League” GET ONE A copy can be downloaded/printed from If you’ve got a copy, READ IT Keep it as a Reference

Then What Log on to your DISTRICT WEBSITE Take a look around and see what information is available Call or send your District Information Officer (DIO) an e:Mail introducing yourself Your DIO should send out e:Mails throughout the year. If he/she does not have your e:Mail address, you won’t get these important messages

Information Officer The information officer manages the league’s official home page on eteamz.com, manages the online registration process and ensures that league rosters are maintained on the site, assigns administrative rights to league volunteers and teams, ensures that league news and scores are updated on a regular basis, collects, posts and distributes important information on League activities including direct dissemination of fund-raising and sponsor activities to Little League Baseball, district, public, league members and media, serves as primary contact person for Little League and eteamz.com regarding optimizing use of the Internet for league administration and for distributing information to league members and to Little League Baseball, and displays enthusiasm for using the Internet for league administration, for sharing information and for creating a more enjoyable and efficient Little League experience. What Do I REALLY DO? The Information Officer: Manages the league’s Official Home Page on eteamz.com (If your league has a Website MAINTAIN it, If your league does not have a Website – GET ONE) In Addition to your Website on eteamz, you should have a Bulletin Board at your Park/Facility where you post important information. The more places the information is available the better.

The Information Officer: Ensures that League News and scores (if you post your schedules and scores) are updated on a regular basis Collects, Posts and Distributes important information on League Activities (should be done on both the Website and on your Bulletin Board) What Do I REALLY DO?

Your Job – in 25 Words or Less Use the league Website, Bulletin Board, and / or any other available methods to GET THE WORD OUT about what’s going on in your League. =================== If people in your league/area do not know what’s going on, IT’S YOUR FAULT.

ANYTHING ELSE? You Should: Attend ALL your league BOD Meetings Attend District Meetings (along with your President) Be the FOCAL POINT for INFORMATION within your League
