Alligators By: Heather Metcalf

Alligators are reptiles.

Where do alligators live? Alligators live in fresh water swamps, marshes, rivers, and lakes. They like calm waters because it is easier for them to swim and breath.

What do alligators eat? Alligators are carnivores. They eat meat and also sticks, fish, turtles, snakes, and small mammals. The young feed on insects, snails, and small fish.

Fun Facts Alligators and crocodiles look similar. Crocodiles are endangered and because the two look alike and are easily confused, alligators are also endangered.
