April based review  Permissions must be set with Acrobat Professional 7. Requires that each reviewer have Adobe Reader 7.  Each reviewer marks up a copy and all comments are imported into a single document or reviewers mark up the document one-by-one.  Most online reviews use this method for distributing PDFs.

April Collaborative web-based review  Multiple reviewers can work on the same copy of the PDF simultaneously and can see other reviewers’ comments  Comments stored outside PDF, but viewable by all reviewers  Requires full Adobe Acrobat product  PDF must be opened in a browser (although it can be reviewed offline)

April Collaborative review (continued)  Supports several repositories for comments: network drive, WebDAV, Web discussions, or database  Requires more setup, but uses standard server technologies that keep costs to a minimum

April Collaborative review: open the PDF in a browser!  To have several people reviewing a single PDF document at the same time (network drive, WebDAV, etc.), the people must open the PDF in a Web browser.  The writer sets the browser settings.  If reviewers want to download the document for offline review, they can.
