2 Definition of Digital Documents:
Digital Documents are documents that are stored in an electronic form (hard drives, USB devices, discs etc). Digital can be defined as: the use of electronic technology that is able to generate, process and store data is a non-paper based from. Document refers to the information that is contained within a specific medium. Thus we can see that ‘Digital Documents’ have alot of relevant in terms of ICT as they are electronic documents that can represent may facets of today’s ever-growing technology as they can represent data that is textual, photographic and audiovisual. Digital Documents can be created on the Office Suite and other such programs.

3 What is a PDF? PDF is a portable document file that enables users to print and view documents online and in print. The PDF file structure allows the user to keep all their fonts, images, layout and any other formatting throughout the document. PDF documents maintain their consistency in delivering the same quality documents regardless of the operating system used. PDF was developed by the Adobe Corporation and is a printer technology – therefore PDF is dependent on the printer driver, this means that PDF allows for the document digital document to maintain the original layout and maintains the quality of the original document, in a more secure format.

4 Why would you use PDF? PDF documents allow users to share their digital documents online – with the added comfort of knowing that their data is safe and their intellectual property is safe. Therefore PDFs are the ay of the future as technology is become more and more advanced with the growth of the Internet and the growth of Web 2.0, the internet is becoming the ‘place for creating and sharing ideas and work’.
