Topic 1: 200 Question: What was the lend-Lease act? Answer: It was put in place during FDR’s presidency, prior to our entering into WWII. It allowed the government to not only sell but also to lend or lease armaments to any nation deemed “vital to the defense of the United States.” In “other words America could funnel weapons to England on the basis of Britain’s promise to repay or return any weapons they borrowed.

Topic 1: 600 Question: This major occurence showed that a single event could sway public opinion in the time of crisis. Answer: What is Japan’s bombing of Pearl Harbor ( people swayed from isolationism in favor of military action)

Topic 5: 600 Question: What was Truman’s main reason for dropping nuclear weapons on Japan? Answer: He wanted to end war as quickly as possible. Also, he thought an invasion of Japan would result in excessive casualties.
