STMS Community Service Club 2015 Wrap Up The STMS Community Service Club has been hard at work during We have taken part and hosted many activities and events throughout the community. Here are a few examples of what we have accomplished in 2015.

Purpose To provide students with opportunities to serve their local community and region. To facilitate experiences that will develop core character traits. To model virtuous citizenship. To empower students to take ownership of their community. To inspire positive change and growth in the local community.

Herculaneum City Wide Clean Up April club members helped clean up the city of Herculaneum

Honor Flight – WWII Veterans April 2015 Club members wrote 50 letters for the “Mail Call” during the flight to Washington D.C. 55 club members attended a Welcome Home Celebration for the WWII Honor Flight Veterans at Lambert St. Louis International Airport

Wounded Warrior Project May 2015 Raised $2100 through Battle of the 1 st Periods & Shaving of Teachers’ Heads

Flood Relief June/ July 2015 Sandbagging at the Herculaneum Amvets Collecting water and food for flood victims in southern Jefferson County

Decorating STMS for Homecoming October club members helped to decorate the building

Million Misfit Sock March October 2015 Nationwide Anti-Bullying Campaign Club members made posters and encouraged students to participate by wearing crazy socks

Brenden’s Backpack Food Collection October 2015 Club members organized food collection for program

Veteran’s Parade November 2015 Participated with a float in the parade 35 club members participated in the parade

Veteran’s Assembly November 2015 Club members wrote Thank You cards to the attending Veterans

Jefferson County Rescue Mission November club members helped stock/ unload Scouting for Food deliveries

STUCO Can Food Collection November 2015 Club members participated and donated can food items to the STUCO Event

Christmas Card Collection December 2015 Club members organized event to collect Christmas Cards for local nursing homes 150 cards were collected

STMS Toy Drive December 2015 Club members organized event to collect toys for local families in need 220 toys were collected and delivered to Hand n Hand Pregnancy Center

Christmas Cards for Safyre December 2015 Club members and other students wrote Christmas cards to a young girl named Safyre in New York. Safyre lost her father and siblings in a fire that was set on purpose. She was burned over 75% of her body and has lost a hand and foot due to her injuries.

STMS CSC Lock Imperial Bowl December 18, club members are signed up to participate in a celebration lock in Cosmic bowling, competitions, games, PS3/ Xbox, & food

Over 487 Service Hours Recorded in 2015 & We are just getting started! Look out 2016
