Presentation transcript:

Hacer Ahora Miércoles, el 26 de enero 1) What are three topics you studied in Spanish I that you feel you truly mastered? 2) What are three topics you studied in Spanish I that you feel you need to review? 3) What is one category of vocabulary you would like to learn about in Spanish II (For instance, in Spanish I we studied school, food, the house, etc.)? 4) What is one grammar topic you would like to learn about in Spanish II? 5) What is one cultural topic you would like to learn about in Spanish II?

Objetivos  Discuss class requirements, policies and procedures  Exchange basic information in Spanish both orally and in writing by asking and responding to common questions learned in Spanish I  Review the essential questions of the Spanish II curriculum by writing responses to each one and participate in a gallery walk to view others’ responses

Mini lectura  Lee: Read the dialogue you are given. Read the entire dialogue once without marking anything.  Read through the dialogue again and circle any words that look completely unfamiliar.  Escribe: Write a response to each of the “preguntas rápidas” en español (try to write in complete sentences)  If you finish early, write another question you could ask to check for someone’s understanding of this dialogue.

Mini lectura – Preguntas rápidas 1. ¿Cómo se llaman las chicas? 2. ¿Cuántos años tiene Marcela? 3. ¿Por qué necesita salir Elena? Las chicas se llaman Elena y Marcela. Marcela tiene diez y ocho años. Elena necesita salir porque necesita ir a la biblioteca para estudiar.

Entrevistas  You will conduct “mini entrevistas” with your classmates to practice using basic questions learned throughout Spanish I.  Ask each question to a different person (you should have talked to ten people once time is up)  Record your responses on your “Entrevista” sheet  Be prepared to share out.

Escribe  Write your own original dialogue using some of the basic greetings, questions and farewells we reviewed in class today  Use the chart on the board as a “phrase bank”  Your dialogue must include: - The names of at least two characters - At least 1 greeting from each character - At least 2 basic questions and responses to those questions from each character - At least 1 farewell from each character  Finish early? Be sure to check your dialogue for grammar and spelling mistakes. If you’re sure it’s perfect, turn your dialogue into a comic strip.

Preguntas Esenciales  Read the 7 essential questions posted around the room.  Think about how you might answer each question based on what you learned in Spanish I and what you will be learning about in Spanish II.  Write your response on a post it.  Place your response to each question on the poster with that question.  We will do a “gallery walk” to read other responses to these questions.

Evaluaciones Diarias ____ OT1 (On Time) ____ IW (Completed Individual Work) ____ GW (Made meaningful contributions to group work) ____ SS (Spoke Spanish before resorting to English) ____ OT2 (Stayed on Task) Total: _____/5 This should go on the same page as your Hacer Ahora and Boleto de salida in your folder.

Boleto de salida y evaluaciones 1. What are three ways you can greet someone in Spanish? 2. What is one question you might ask someone you just met in Spanish? 3. What are three ways you can say goodbye to someone in Spanish? 4. What are three things you need to do each day when you come into class? This can go on the same page as your Hacer Ahora activity. Remember to do your self evaluation on this page as well!
