The Good Portion Luke

“Margin is the space between our load and our limit.” – Richard Swensen

Luke Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.”

Luke But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

Our load often exceeds our limit.

2 Problems: 1.We are conditioned to find our worth in our work. 2.We are afraid to slow down because we think we’ll miss out.

The Good Portion Jesus is ready to receive you wherever you are in the complexity and busyness of life. Jesus restores you from wherever you’ve been in the complexity and busyness of life.

King David’s wisdom… Psalm 16.5 – “The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.” Psalm – “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

King David’s wisdom… Psalm 142:5, “I cry to you, O Lord; I say, ‘You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”

Partaking in the Good Portion… 1.Rest Regularly. 2.Resist work. 3.Reflect on the King.

3 Phrases that sum up the Scriptures… I am with you. I love you. Do not be afraid.
