Encounter Luke 10:38-42

WORSHIP (Old English) lit. To ascribe worth-ship to God. OT = To bow down. To adore in reverence and honor God. A response to an encounter with the Presence of God.

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the Living God. When can I go and meet with God? ~ Ps. 42:1-2

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. ~ Revelation 3:20

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. ~ Luke 10:38-39

But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” ~ Luke 10:40

DISTRUST = SIN (I don’t trust your heart) FAITH/TRUST = INTIMACY WITH GOD

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” ~ Luke 10:41-42
