Practicing Permanency: Advanced Certificate Course in Adoption and Foster Care Competency Putting Permanency Into Practice: Transfer of Learning from the Classroom to Practice

Session Ten: Putting Permanency into Practice How do professionals bring all of this information together and utilize these new learning’s into everyday practice? Each student will explore the transfer of learning from the ten class classroom sessions to the real world practice arena and present their findings to the entire class.

Session Ten Competencies Knows and understands the power and complexities of putting permanency into practice. Session Ten Objectives Demonstrates how one could put permanency into every day practice.

Course Themes o Session 1: Overview of the US Child Welfare System, Respectful Language with Families and the Language of Permanency o Session 2: Impact of Child Traumatic Stress on Permanency o Session 3: Engaging All Constellation Members: Birthparents; Foster/Adoptive/Kin Parents; and Adopted Persons
