Background: Year round programming at City owned facilities in the Bay Area

City of Los Gatos: City P&R programming + private programming. Kain Performance (masters and triathlon) South Bay Swim Team (US swimming club) water polo and synchronized swimming. City of Campbell: City P&R programming + private programming. Lap, Masters swimming and US swimming team (Wave) City of Mountain View: City P&R programming + private programming. Lap, Masters(MVM) swimming and US swimming team (LAMV) and Aqua Fitness.

Most successful programming… City owned facilities with private operators running year round programs.

City of Santa Clara Run by SCSC (Santa Clara Swim Club), offering community swim, Masters swimming, US Swimming team, ARC Lifeguard training and Swim Lessons. 1 site, 3 pools, 1 Indoor Pool for swim lessons

City of Menlo Park Run by Menlo Swim, offering community swim, masters, US Swim Team, Sumer league, triathlon training, Masters water polo and Swim Lessons. 1 site, 2 pools, 1 Indoor facility for lessons

Considerations for year round programming (facilities upgrades) Pool Enclosure Lighting: Replace missing bulbs inside and outside the building. Replace yellow lighting for white inside the bathrooms. Heathers: Install heaters inside bathrooms. Safety: Install dry-deck on bathrooms floors and chairs for changing. Showers: Bring the temperature up to the 90* (outside showers) Pool: Paint lines in the bottom of the pool and install poles for backstroke flags
