BUILD A CHARACTER 3rd grade, Language Arts Mary Ruebusch, McCurdy School To Teacher Pages

TEACHER PAGE Objective: This activity will help students think about characters. –Age and appearance –Personality –Point of View Activity: Students will write a paragraph about a character. They will share their paragraph with a partner.

TEACHER PAGE Procedure: 1. The students will view slides, discuss, and follow the directions. 2. They will choose a character and write a paragraph about the paragraph they choose. Additional activity: Students can graph the numbers of the 4 characters that their classmates chose to write about. Discuss which characters were the most popular and why.

Choose one of these characters. Describe what your character looks like.

What is your character like? Give your character a-- –Favorite color –Favorite food –Favorite activity

Name your character. Would you like to know this character?

Write a paragraph about your character.

Share your paragraph about one of these characters with a partner. Click for a sample paragraph.
