Special parallelograms 5-4

Definitions Rectangle- a quadrilateral with 4 right angles Rhombus - a quadrilateral with 4 congruent sides Square - a quadrilateral with 4 right angles, and 4 congruent sides.

Diagonals The diagonals of a rectangle are congruent. The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular. Each diagonal of a rhombus bisects 2 angles of the rhombus.

Theroems The midpoint of the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equidistant from the 3 vertices. If an angle of a parallelogram is a right angle, then the parallelogram is a rectangle.

Theorems Cont. If two consecutive sides of a parallelogram are congruent, then the parallelogram is a rhombus.
