2 Rectangles What is a rectangle by definition?
A Quadrilateral with four right angles. Why is every rectangle a parallelogram? Because both pairs of opp. angles are

3 RHOMBUS What is a rhombus? A Quadrilateral with four congruent sides.
Why is a rhombus a parallelogram? Because both pairs of opp. sides are

4 SQUARE What is a square? A Quadrilateral with four right angles and four congruent sides. Why are all squares parallelograms? Because both pairs of opp. sides AND/OR angles are

5 Diagonals! All diagonals of a rectangle are congruent.
The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular. Each diagonal of a rhombus bisects two angles of the rhombus.

6 What if? What if an angle of a parallelogram is a right angle? DRAW IT! What if two consecutive sides of a parallelogram are congruent? DRAW IT!
