Gold Coast University Hospital Project Completion and Handover Plan Objectives & Strategy The Project Completion and Handover Plan for the GCUH ensures that not only the finishing steps but all stages of the project are successfully completed, that all relevant stakeholders are engaged in agreeing to, documenting and committing to the process of completing the Project successfully. Appropriate allocation of resources is an important aspect to successful completion.

Gold Coast University Hospital Project Completion and Handover Plan Key Objectives Define the procedures on how to certify that Practical Completion has been achieved; Identification of the key stakeholders and the makeup of the Project Finalisation Team; All Head Contract obligations to be identified, mirrored in subcontracts and actioned – specifically items identified under the Head Contract and associated Volumes incorporating the conditions to the Contract and original offer; Plan and develop the controls necessary to ensure Head Contract & Authority obligations are fulfilled; Identify the additional plans, objectives, activities and information that are required to be provided to assist in the Finalisation Process.

Gold Coast University Hospital Project Completion and Handover Plan Who does the Plan Involve? The main parties involved in the finalisation process will be: The ‘Client’ - in this case it is the Principal’s Representative and the Project Managers acting for the Queensland Government. The ‘Principal’ – in this case Queensland Health and GC District. The ‘Managing Contractor’ – in this case Lend Lease.

Gold Coast University Hospital Project Completion and Handover Plan Makeup of the Plan The Plan is divided into two (2) sections: Actions for Practical Completion Areas not related to Practical Completion

Gold Coast University Hospital Project Completion and Handover Plan Actions for Practical Completion This part involves the steps required to obtain practical Completion, which follows very closely to the definition of Practical Completion within the Contract. It is broken down into five (5) stages as follows; Stage 1 – verify the works meet the brief Stage 2 – verify the Works are Complete Stage 3 – verify the Works are Commissioned Stage 4 – verify all permits and approvals are received Stage 5 – verify all Training, Operational and Maintenance information is provided. To manage the implementation of the plan, various tools were used to track progress. These tools were included in the monthly reports and provided at the PCG on how progress is going with respect to Project Completion.

Gold Coast University Hospital Project Completion and Handover Plan Actions not related to Practical Completion This part involves all other matters required to close down the project and provide stakeholders with certainty that the Managing Contractor has completed its contractual obligations. The major elements of this section are financial closure, demobilisation and ongoing maintenance requirements during the DLP.
