Thorough understanding of what drives profitability Understanding of the different parts’ contribution to the whole Market-driven approach to decision-making Understanding of key financial indicators and the factors behind them Deliverables – Business Acumen

Reasons for Using a Simulation I.Simulation inspires financial accountability and crystallises the financial implications of business decisions by linking the decisions to cash flows and bottom line performance. II.Simulation promotes better decision-making by helping individuals see how their decisions can affect the performance of others and organisation as a whole. III.Simulation excites the competitive spirit drive to excel in the competitive markets by giving the participants the opportunity to practice the alignment of strategy, structure, processes, and people according to customer centric principles and by measuring their success with relevant metrics. “Done well, simulations can bring enormous benefit. Indeed, corporations using traditional management training programs may be wasting time and money by comparison. A well-designed simulation will yield much better results and prove more cost-effective, despite the initial expense of design and facilitation.” The McKinsey Quarterly “Is Simulation Better Than Experience?”

Target Groups

The simulation is completely web-based. There is no need to install any separate applications and the simulation can be accessed from any computer that has an internet connection. The simulation platform allows team-members to work virtually if they wish. Each team-member has her/his own account that enables them to make decisions and scenarios and combine the outcomes with the other team-members. Various company’s internal social media tools (internal phonebooks, videos, forums etc) can be used during the training process. Web-based mode of operations

The event takes place on-line, facilitated by Cesim support. Time investment per participant is hours, and the typical duration for the learning process is five to seven weeks (assuming 4-6 decision- making rounds, one round/week). Each decision-making round represents one year of simulation time. Each team consists of 3-5 participants and teams compete against each other in competitive telecom markets. After the decision-making rounds the team getting best financial results will be the Winner. Deployment of the event is done with an on-line platform that is completely browser-based, requiring no software or hardware investments from the client. The event does not introduce any additional vulnerabilities to corporate IT infrastructure. From the IT security viewpoint the Cesim simulation is just another website.
