Inductive Arguments that God Exists Based loosely on the work of Richard Swinburne

A Cosmological Argument (including intelligent design) The universe is very complex and so are the laws of nature. While the laws of nature can explain how complexity develops from earlier states to later states, they do not explain how to begin the universe. While the laws of nature can explain conservation of energy, they cannot explain why the universe contains exactly as much energy as it does. It's easier to believe the universe was intentionally caused by something than that it (contrary to known science) unintentionally caused itself. Intentions are properties of beings. So, it is easier to believe that the universe was intentionally caused by some being than that it wasn't.

An Argument From Consciousness Transcendental consciousness (consciousness of one's own consciousness) has appeared in configurations of apparently unconscious matter. There are no scientific explanations for the appearance of transcendental consciousness. If there is a creator god who acted intentionally, that being would possess consciousness. A being that possesses transcendental consciousness would enjoy the existnce of other transcendenaltly conscious beings. So, it is more plausible to believe that human beingsand any other transcendentally conscious beings were intentionally created.
