Online Safety Topics Acceptable Use Policies COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) Publishing Student Work and Photos Websites for More Information

Topics Acceptable Use Policies AUP’S outline the terms and conditions of Internet use, rules of online behavior, and access privileges. AUP’S set standards for all users while using the Internet, allowing parents, students, teachers, and schools to get information and safety precautions that they need to be aware of. Signatures by parents, students, and staff signify agreement to abide by all policies outlined.

Topics COPPA Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Regulates what can and cannot be collected from children under the age of 13 by commercial websites. Children must have the permission of a parent/guardian in order to release any personal information or works. While at school, teachers can act as a parent in regards to his/her students.

Topics Publishing Student Work and Photos Permission forms are needed to avoid lawsuits and to protect student privacy. Permission forms for the school and classroom websites should follow the same guidelines. The following cannot be published without consent from parents VStudent name VPhotos VStudent work
