POSEIDON (NEPTUNE) DRIVING A CHARIOT OF HIPPOCAMPUS, ROMAN MOSAIC C3RD A.D., POSEIDON SHOWING HIS WRATH AT A TRIREME IN AGE OF MYTHOLOGY

PRE 476 A.D.MODERN I choose this image for Poseidon because it shows the attributes and how roman and Greeks depicted Poseidon. First it shows Poseidon holding the trident the main weapon he has and the main symbol that usually is incorporated with him. Also he riding a chariot driven by hippocampus which is the way of travel Poseidon prefers. Finally he is drawn naked the way both Romans and Greeks depicted Poseidon. That is why I choose this image for Poseidon.  I choose this image for the way modern art depicts this god. First it shows Poseidon furious at a human ship and is about to destroy it thus bringing the wrath of the sea upon the trireme. Next Poseidon is holding a trident his main symbol of power and authority over his domain. Finally Poseidon is depicted by modern artists by to be a half fish half man god which is not what Romans and Greeks depicted him. That is why I choose this image for Poseidon.
