Roofs/Gutters  Roofs and drainage systems should be checked every six months  Down spouts- connects to gutters to carry water away from the foundation of the house  If you see water stains on the ceiling of your room, check for damaged or missing shingles

Carpets/Rugs/Furniture  Best tool for cleaning is a carpet a vacuum cleaner  Best tool for cleaning a small rug is just shaking it by hand  Best way to keep a new sofa clean is to vacuum and check the folds for lodged objects

Disinfecting  VERY important to use a true DISINFECTANT when cleaning the home after someone has been ill

Energy Labels  A label that states the average yearly cost of operating an appliance is the energy guide

Warranties  Can help a person choose a product over another  Limited- cover some repairs

Repairs  Changing the filter on air conditioners can help them run efficiently  Wallpaper fades over time and needs to be removed once they become loose at corners  To fix holes in the walls, you can use spackling compound to fix them
