Clouds and Storms Lesson 2 – What Happens to Water in Clouds?

A cloud is a made up of many tiny water droplets

Any form of water that falls from clouds to the ground is called… Pre Precipitation

Types of Precipitation

Four places on the earth where water can be found are…

Oceans

Lakes

Rivers

Streams

Most lakes, rivers, streams and ponds contain … FRESH WATER

Underground water is called FRESH WATER

A spring is formed when groundwater flows out of a small openings in the earth’s surface

The process of using and reusing water is called the Water Cycle

In the water cycle… Water evaporates, condenses, fall as precipitation and eventually evaporates again. Runoff is surface water that is not absorbed.

Two ways in which water evaporates are: SUNWIND

During the condensation stage: The air cools, and the water vapor condenses into tiny water droplets. The droplets form a cloud
