UNISDR and CEOS/JAXA JAXA lead the CEOS WGDisaster WCDRR Task Team (WTT) which was established by 27 th CEOS Plenary (Nov 2013) JAXA consulted with Ms. Matsuoka, UNISDR Japan representative, to establish relationship with UNISDR. Thanks to kind arrangement by Ms. Matsuoka, JAXA VP Mr. Higuchi (IAF President) met Dr. Warstrom, Special Adviser to UN SG, in Jan Dr. Warstrom stated in the meeting, – Timely and easy to understand data and information are needed. – Satellite data need to be used in existing systems. – Change monitoring and prediction capabilities are highly desirable. – Demonstration and exhibition of satellite data applications will be useful to help policy maker to understand its value. Ms. Matsuoka helped JAXA to become the Participating Organization of the Asian Pacific Ministerial Conference for DRR, Bangkok, April WTT members participated in series of national, regional and global consultations on HFA2 through the year of WTT completed its mission successfully at the WCDRR, March Ms. Matsuoka invited Mr. HIguchi to see Dr. Warstrom in Aug 2015 in Tokyo to follow up the WCDRR. Dr. Warstrom stated in the meeting, – She was very pleased with outcomes of WCDRR working session on high technologies for DRR. – She was also very pleased with global partnership proposed by GEO-DARMA. – UNISDR will send its representative to CEOS Plenary in Kyoto.

Data Analysis Nodes analized the data. - Jul 24 Archived data was uploaded. - Jul 27 Additional Obs request received. - Jul 28 ALOS-2 observed the 2 nd AOI. - Jul 29 L1 product transferred. Letter from Relief&Resettle ment Dept. Myanmar, Jul 29, 2015 SA promptly coordinated with Disaster Authorities and data products was shared among the authorities and used for listing flooded villages(incl. potential), also for response actions etc.

12 Summary CEOS 2015 saw establishement of excellent partnership between UNISDR and CEOS. Sentinel Asia provides regional space-based DRR support system, covering a full cycle of DRM from preparedness to recovery. SA bring together and enhance regional capabilities of space technologies and DRM. JAXA is commited to the implemenation of the Sentinel Asia in coopdration with other partners.
