Historical Background  It was WW II (World War II) and the Nazi soldiers were rounding ever Jewish person to kill in a concentration camp.  The Nazi even passed an Anti-Jew law. This law bans Jews from employment.  There’s even another law that forbids Jewish people from marring other Jews or non- Jews.

About Anne Frank  Anne Frank was a thirteen year old Jewish girl. Her family and some people named the Van Daans (Van Peles) had to hide from the Nazis in an Annex. Anne wrote everything that happened in her diary that she got on her thirteenth birthday and we read it now because it tell us what happened and what she experienced inside the Annex during the Holocaust. Anne and her family and the other people living in the Annex were discovered and arrested in Aug Anne Frank died in the concentration camp.

The Secret Annex  The secret Annex was a hiding place for the Frank family, the Van Daan family and Dussel to hide away from the Nazis.  The Annex looks like a big room but has only three beds a bathroom kitchen and living room its sort of like an apartment.  Everyone in the Annex couldn’t make a sound while the Green Police was in the house downstairs.

The Helpers  Miep Gies: She was the one who found Anne’s diary in the Annex after the Franks, Van Daans and Dussel got arrested and she also got the diary published. Miep also bring supplies for the hiders in the Annex before they were arrested.  Mr. Kraler : A man who would come into the Annex and tell the hiders what was going on outside the Annex weather it’s good news or bad news.

The Holocaust The Holocaust was the extermination of the Jews. Adolf Hitler caused this horrible tragedy because he believed that the Jews were responsible for the lost in WW 1. He did this horrid massacre for his sick twisted revenge. The Holocaust has still left a mental and emotional scar on all who know about it and it still has this very day.

Conclusion  Ever since I’ve heard about the Holocaust I was both shocked and distraught. And when I kept reading more and more information. I felt like crying because it’s just unbelievable that we live in a world where crime, hate, homicide and genocide exists. Even though it’s over we will never forget what happened during WW2. But ever since I read about Anne Frank even though she herself was scared, I know that she was truly brave and more special where it counts. Now she’s in heaven with the ones she loves. I’ll never forget her.
