Roleplays For groups of 4-6

Roleplay 1(3 people) You are the parents of a six-year- old girl. You are doing your best to bring her up, and you are quite strict. The problem is your own parent who lives with you. He/she is always spoiling your child. Here are some examples of the behavior that upsets you: Giving her too much candy. Allow her to leave her meals half- eaten. Letting her watch too much TV Buying her too many toys Allowing her to stay up late Buying her whatever she wants in the supermarket (Think of MORE!) You remember that your parent was much stricter with YOU! You are the parent of a grown-up child who has a six-year-old daughter. You live together, and enjoy being a grandparent. It's more fun than being a parent, because you have all of the pleasures without the responsibilities. Recently, your idea of how to raise a child has changed. You believe: Children should enjoy food. Forcing a child to eat can lead to weight problems. TV helps develop a child's imagination. Toys are essential to a child's development. Children have lots of energy, and shouldn't go to bed too early.

Roleplay 2 (4-5 people) You are a young person who has decided to marry someone who comes from another country. Today you'll tell your parents, and ask for their approval. Below are some of the reasons why you think your international marriage is a good idea (think of other reasons by yourself): You feel that in such a marriage, you will: develop a broader point-of-view enjoy more straightforward, honest communication share cultural backgrounds have a chance to travel or live overseas be able to raise bilingual children You are the parents of a young person who has decided to marry someone who comes from another country. Today your child will tell you and ask for your approval. You think they should get a dog instead. You are the mother of an only child. Recently you have been wanting to have another baby because: Babies are cute. It will be company for the first child and for the grandparents. Soon you will be too old. You are the father. Your wife wants another baby. You are not sure because: You want your wife to be happy. You want your first child to be happy.

Instructions 1.Find a group of between 3 and 6 people. 2.Choose a role-play (1, 2 or 3) 3.Prepare this in your group. Remember you can introduce other characters such as friends and grandparents if your group is bigger. 4.Perform after the break!
