29 th Sunday: Ordinary Time

Alleluia, Alleluia, Christ is with us, He is with us indeed Alleluia And so we gather. In the name of the Father…

You care for us when we need your help. Lord have mercy Lord, have mercy. You listen to others when they ask for help. Christ have mercy Christ, have mercy. You guide people to help others. Lord have mercy Lord, have mercy.

Loving Father we ask that you listen to our prayers today and guide us as we help others in all that we do. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen

Alleluia, Alleluia

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Mark Glory to you, Lord This is the Gospel of the Lord Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ

Alleluia, Alleluia

I wonder what you heard in the Gospel today? I wonder what the two brothers wanted Jesus to give them? What did they have to do if they wanted to share in Christ’s glory? What did Jesus want his disciples to understand?

Jesus teaches that true greatness and real achievement is in serving others. When our hearts are full of love and humility, then anyone can be a servant of Christ.

We pray for an end to injustice, persecution and poverty in our world today. Lord in your mercy. Lord hear our prayer (sung) We pray for peace and reconciliation between nations, races and religions. Lord in your mercy. Lord hear our prayer (sung) We pray for people who are sick and suffering. Lord in your mercy. Lord hear our prayer (sung)

Knowing that our heavenly Father is listening, in the silence of our hearts let us ask for help with something that we are finding difficult.

We are going to listen to some quiet music. While the music is playing, please could one person from each class come and collect a gesture for their focal point.

Let us say this prayer together Loving Father May our willingness to serve with humility bring us closer to your love. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen

Father I place into your hands Father, I place into your hands The things I cannot do, Father, I place into your hands The things that I've been through. Father, I place into your hands The way that I should go, For I know I always can trust you.

Father, I place into your hands My friends and family. Father, I place into your hands The things that trouble me. Father, I place into your hands The person I would be, For I know I always can trust you.

Father, we love to see your face, We love to hear your voice. Father, we love to sing your praise And in your name rejoice. Father, we love to walk with you And in your presence rest, For we know we always can trust you.

Father, I want to be with you And do the things you do. Father, I want to speak the words That you are speaking too. Father, I want to love the ones That you will draw to you, For I know that I am one with you.
