PREZI PRESENTATION The Prezi Interface

In this tutorial you will learn:  About the different parts of a Prezi interface: 1. The Prezi space/canvas 2. The frames 3. The main menu 4. Two modes of Prezi: Presentation, Editing 5. Some valuable keyboard shortcuts.  Navigating the canvas by panning and zooming.

The Prezi Space/Canvas

Zooming in and out of the canvas:  You can zoom in and out by moving your mouse to the extreme right of the canvas and clicking on + or -.  You can also zoom in and out by scrolling up and down on your mouse’s scroller.

The Frames: On the left panel of the interface are the frames on which you will be working on. They are equivalent to slides on a normal presentation. You can edit these frames according to the way you like them to be

The Main Menu The main menu lies above the canvas and the frames. It houses all the tools that you need to add content into your presentation as you prefer. Left section: Presentation mode, Undo an action, Saving our presentation. Middle section: Choosing Frames and Arrows for the presentation, Inserting different files, choosing a suitable theme for the presentation Right section: Settings of the Prezi presentation, Sharing the presentation and exiting from the current presentation and returning to home page.

Some keyboard shortcuts to remember:  “f” – Draw a Frame. Press Esc to leave the frame adding mode.  “s” – Draw a shape. It toggles between different shapes that you can draw.  “l” – Load a file that you want. It enables you to load any type of file that you want in your Prezi.  “p” – Edit your path. This will turn on the path edit mode and let you add different frames to the path and manipulate your presentation path.  All the other standard key board shortcuts like “ctrl+c”, “ctrl+x”, “ctlr+v”, “ctrl+z” also apply.

Navigating the interface:  Panning around the canvas: You can click and hold the mouse left button and drag the hand symbol that appears on the screen to move around the canvas of Prezi.  Zooming in and out: You can use the scroll button on your mouse to zoom in and out of the canvas or you can use the + and – on the extreme right side of the canvas to zoom in and out.
