Why the elements of art are so important No elements, no art, end of story. Secondly, knowing what the elements of art are enables us to (1) describe what an artist has done, (2) analyze what is going on in a particular piece and (3) communicate our thoughts and findings using a common language.

Lets find elements of art being used Take a art example off of your desk Work in groups for five minutes and find as many elements of art as you can.

(2) analyze what is going on in the particular piece found on your desk (3) communicate what you think that the art was about. Why they did it?
