The 13 Colonies

What is a Colony? A body of people who settle far from home but maintain ties with their homeland. Think of it as an apartment. You live in a place owned by someone else.

The 13 Colonies After years of people traveling across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe. The “New World” had a large enough population to start a colony. The colonies were spread up and down the east coast of what is part of the United States of America, today! In the next lesson we will learn about each colony in detail!
