CRIMINAL LAW Starter: In pairs complete the 2 tasks below 1.Write down as many different words that you can think of linking to criminal law ( courts? Types of crimes? Personnel?) 2.Come up with a written definition of what is a crime?

Crime or not a crime? That is the question!!! Stealing your friend’s pencil case Hitting a pedestrian with your car Playing your music loudly in your bedroom constantly In a play fight, breaking your friend’s nose!!! You break into your neighbour’s house to get back a DVD they lent you

How are these 2 cases different? Case 1:- Barbara and Mike have been married 20 years. They do not have a happy relationship and Barbara has recently discovered that Mike is having an affair. She is angry at him and decides that enough is enough. She takes matters into her own hands and suffocates him with a pillow. Case 2:- Lucy is driving home after a night shift in the restaurant where she works. She takes a corner too fast and hits a young boy on the street corner. She calls an ambulance and the boy is rushed to hospital. He dies that night of severe internal injuries.
