 Heart rate refers to the speed of the heartbeat, specifically the number of heartbeats per unit of time. The heart rate is typically expressed as beats.
What is Heart Rate? The number of heart beats per minute. The number of heart beats per minute. Heart rate is expressed as beats per minute or bpm. Heart.

Calculating your heart rates Physical Activity Lesson

What are the benefits of physical fitness? Decrease risk of obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease. Improves body image Improves flexibility Helps manage stress

What is your resting heart rate? Find your pulse!- either on your carotid artery or radial artery. 6 seconds / multiply by 10 Where are these arteries located?

Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) MHR is the highest rate your heart can safely attain during exercise. MHR = 220 – age MHR = 220 – 15 MHR = 205

Target Heart Rate THR is a pulse range in which a person can safely exercise while achieving cardiovascular benefits. THR= 60% to 80% of MHR MHR pulse should not be reached but you want pulse high enough to achieve benefits

THR Fromula 60% or 205 = 123 beats per minute (x.6) 80% of 205 = 164 beats per minute (x.8) For a 15 year old your THR should be between 123 and 164 beats per minute

THR Activity On the worksheet 7.2 fill out your resting heart rate
