In the design process, flowcharts are used as a way of modelling a process or sequence of events. Activity 1 Fill in the meaning of the key terms below… 1) Design process – 2) Modelling – Which stage of the design process would flowcharts come under? Answer:

Flowcharts are used by computers programmers to design the sequence of events that the programme will follow. This is done before they start to write the code. Sample computer program flowchart Systems are a big part of Technology. Systems are a sequence of events. Therefore Flowcharts help us design systems. The quiz you will design is a system. It is also like a basic computer programme.

Flowcharts use a range of symbols (shapes) to indicate different steps in the process. To design your quiz, you will use the following 4 symbols. Activity 2 Research the link below to correctly complete the following two tasks: a)Add the process names inside the shape Arrow - Add name in text box above arrow. Use a small font and no outline. Shape - Click and type. a)Add a text box next to the shapes to describe their purpose.
