Plan Logistics About this Key Feature

School-wide Process for Responding to Student Needs CULTURAL COMPETENCE COLLABORATION Multiple times throughout each school year… Screen students and organize data Review data and set goals Dig Deeper Match Supports to Needs Monitor Progress and Adjust Accordingly WHILE DEMONSTRATING ACCOMPLISH THROUGH Outcomes Screening measures Progress monitoring measures Decision rules and protocols Interventions and Additional Challenges Before collecting data, first establish… Then, at the start of each school year... Plan Logistics At least annually… Evaluate and Refine the Process

Our vision: All Wisconsin students will learn and be successful in life.. Our mission: To build the capacity of Wisconsin schools to develop and sustain a culturally responsive multi-level system of support to ensure the success for all students.. Wisconsin RtI Center

The Plan Logistics module considers the who- what-when-where-how aspects that can “make or break” whether implementation of selected and intensive levels of support goes smoothly and is successful. Guiding questions span multiple aspects of implementation, from leadership and vision to instruction to assessment to budgets and professional development.

“The devil is in the details.” -Anonymous

Have clear and agreed-upon definitions for common terms – especially those with multiple meanings “intervention” “collaboration” “research-based” “differentiation” “RtI”

Plan Logistics: A Critical First Step Who? What? Where? When? How? When will students receive additional support? Do we have a process to access support? Who will deliver instruction? When will we find time to meet to review results? Are staff adequately prepared? Do we need additional resources? What process will we use to troubleshoot concerns along the way? Who will oversee implementation?

Levels of Implementation Not in Place Sustainability  3-5 years  If changing background, need to preserve color of levels of implementation boxes

“Go slow to go fast.”

Success Increased credibility More consistent & better student outcomes Motivated staff Small Early Successes Pay Off

Can you help us think about how that might work? Bring those who will be doing the work into the process as early as possible. Here’s what we’re thinking…

Yes but Will this work? This is the way I know how to do this... Adaptive Change Expect Resistance
