Coral Reefs By: Madison Alexander

Marine ecosystem depend on the coral reefs Rain forests of the sea Occupy as little as 1% of the ocean floor Keep ocean storms in check, breaking up swells that can flood ocean shore.

Coral reefs are a source of life-saving and life-enhancing products. Medical products from marine organisms are being developed.

Coral reefs are a source of life-saving and life-enhancing products. US and other countries are just beginning to invest in marine bio technology.

Coral reefs are a source of life-saving and life-enhancing products. Finding a new drug at sea is 300 to 400 times more likely than from any other ecosystem.

Coral reefs provide jobs in the form of tourism and food. Millions depend on the reefs for their lively hoods. Coastal management needed to protect reefs from irresponsible human impact. Coastal tourism is one of the fastest growth areas in the global economy.
