Life Sciences Institute What is LSI Storage Repository? LSI Storage Repository is a file storage server that is available to LSI staff Accessible once the user has logged into the NUSSTF domain Accessible via the familiar Windows Explorer interface Users are able to share their files/directories with their programme members Access is only given to programme members Accessible within NUS network

Life Sciences Institute How do I get access to it? Send to Mark and Kuan Siong cc to the Programme leaders with the following – Programme name – LSI address Programme leaders to reply to the his approval This manual process allows us to keep the system access in check and control so that only authorized programme members are allowed into their respective programme directory Programme leaders are to us for access revocation when members leave the programme

Life Sciences Institute How do I access it? Access it by opening your Windows Explorer Enter \\invitro\programme name into the address bar\\invitro\programme name It should open your programme directory

Life Sciences Institute Password Prompt If the computer is not logged into NUSSTF domain, a windows dialog box will pop up prompting for a password Enter your user ID as “NUSSTF\userid” and your password

Life Sciences Institute Drive Mapping To map the programme directory, click on “Tools” on the menu bar

Life Sciences Institute Drive Mapping A dialog will pop up prompting you for the drive letter and the programme directory location Enter your desired drive letter and put the programme directory as \\invitro\programme name\\invitro\programme name

Life Sciences Institute How to use Your mapped drive or programme folder behaves like any folder on your local computer You can drag and drop or copy and paste files You can create directories in them too

Life Sciences Institute Directory/File sharing Directories and files are by default accessible to all members of the programme Select directory/file, right-click on it and select “Properties” You should be able to go to the “Security” tab

Life Sciences Institute Directory/File sharing Click on “Advanced” button and you should be able to see the following permission summary

Life Sciences Institute Disallow Directory/File sharing To disallow programme members from viewing your directory, click on “LSIStaff” and click on “Remove” button Do the same for “Everyone” This applies to both directories and files

Life Sciences Institute Allow Directory/File Sharing To allow programme members to view your directory, click on “LSIStaff” and click on “Edit” button Check the following attributes: DirectoryFile Traverse Folder / Execute File  List Folder / Read Data  Read Attributes  Read Extended Attributes  Read Permissions 
