16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of: 17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. 19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

What Things Edify One Another?

Paul, to the Elders at Ephesus And now brethren, I commend you to God

Things that Edify: #1 Remind everyone about the True and living God. 1. Gen. 1:1 2. Heb. 1: Acts 17:24 4. I John 4:8

Things that Edify: #2 (Acts 20:32) And to the Word of His Grace The Word of God…we can truly be built Up by hearing it. Rom. 10:17 Psalms 119:11 Psalms 119:

What will the Word do for you? 1. Encourage you. Acts 28:15 2. Teach you. I Tim. 4:16 3. Edify you. Acts 20:32 4. Comfort you. I Thess. 4:18 Listen to these precious words of God.

Deut. 31:6-8 6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. 7 And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it. 8 And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Psalms 9: The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. 10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Cf. Psalms 46:1

Psalms 42:11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, And my God!

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, MY PEACE, I give unto you: not as the world giveth, Give I unto you, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Rom. 8: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

2 Cor. 1: For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

Phil. 4:4-8 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which Strengtheneth me.

Phil. 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need According to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Things that Edify: #3 Your inheritance with the Saints… Acts 20:32..and to give you an inheritance among all them who are Sanctified. 2 Pet. 1:3 According unto his divine power..whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises…

Look at Paul…who said: Gal. 2:20 Gal. 6:14 I Cor. 2:2 2 Cor. 4:5 …I Thess. 4:13-18 Look at what I’m getting…No way am I Gonna miss that!!!

Things that Edify: #4 Your name is in the Book of Life…. Acts 2:47

Phil. 4:3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life

It can be ‘blotted out’ b) Rev. 22: 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Ex. 32:33 33 And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Mal. 3:16 16 Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name.

Rev. 20:12 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Things that Will Edify: 1. Remind everyone about the True and Living God. 2. Listen to the Word of His Grace 3. Remember your inheritance is forth- coming. 4. Be sure your name is written by God in His book of Life!.

We can make it! We can overcome and rejoice with God In Heaven. We can—if we want to…God wants us To…it is up to us…. What will you do with his invitation? Now is the accepted time. Behold, Today is the day of salvation. 2 Cor. 6:2
