Communication Networks #1 – Official Network  Communication that moves up and down the chain of command from supervisors to employees.  Vertical communication usually in formal written or verbal format: memos, staff meeting, conferences, etc.

Communication Networks #2 Functional Network Communication necessary to get the task or job completed. May be formal or informal, written or verbal, horizontal or vertical.

Communication Networks #3 Friendship Network  Informal communication between friends; sharing of personal information  Should be at breaks or after work  ONLY

Communication Networks #4 Grapevine Network  Usually from someone with access to key information which is pretty accurate, but always incomplete  Fast, but INCOMPLETE information
