Activity # 1: Recall previous learning Purpose: To describe what was learned in the previous class. Instructions: Work as a class. Discuss the questions presented. Check answers with all the class.

Activity #2: WARM-UP: PRACTICING A CHANT Purpose: To apply rhythm using a chant. Instructions: Work in groups of four. Copy the words from the board. Follow the teacher model. Repeat the chant applying rhythm and claps. The group who memorize the chant and do the activity the best will get one point.

Identify the parts of a letter. From another slide, fill in the blanks of the same letter while the teacher reads it. Do a cloze exercise.

At present I don´t work and I need a job, you know. For this reason I have decided to travel to Canada for two years. I don't know if it is the best decision but I haven't another option. On the other hand, could you do me a big favor? Don´t you mind if you lend me some money for my airfare? I´m sure you won´t dissapoint me. I know that you had the same situation years ago, so I would do the same for you if you needed me. Please, think about it.Thank you for reading my letter and I hope your reply soon. Bye, bye. ACTIVITY # 4: Redacting a Letter Purpose: Redact your own letter to a friend. Instructions: Write a letter to a person you care pretty much. Follow the same model as the letter showed before. Try to commit no mistakes.

Activity # 5: The Post Office Purpose: Describe a visit to the post office Instructions: Read the reading “The Post Office.” Identify the Direct and Indirect Object. Answer the questions.

Activity # 5: The Post Office The Post Office On Thursday Anita went to the post office. The post office is usually a very busy place. There are usually many people waiting in line. They all want to do different things. Some people want to buy stamps. Some people want to send packages. Anita needed to buy some stamps and to send a package. At the post office she talks to the clerk. The clerk was very helpful. It is her Mother’s birthday soon. She bought some stamps for her mother’s birthday card. She bought her mother a present and sent it in a package. She bought her Mom a cookbook. Anita hopes her Mom likes the card and present.

Activity # 5: The Post Office From the reading, answer the Following Questions: 1.Why is the post office usually a busy place? 2. What do people want to do there? 3. Where did Anita go? 4. Why did she go there? 5. What was in the package?

Activity # 6: Dialogue Purpose: To practice a conversation performed in a post office. Instructions: Listen to the teacher reading a dialogue. Repeat after the teacher. Read it alone. Notice about use of Can and Could. As a homework, in pairs,memorize it for next class.

Activity # 6: Dialogue : Anita is at the post office. She is talking to the clerk. Clerk: May I help you? Anita: Yes, please. I need some stamps for this card. Clerk: That is one dollar and fifty cents. Anita: Okay. Thank you. Clerk: Can I do something else for you? Anita: Yes, please. Could you send this package to Canada? Clerk: Of course. Let me weigh it for you. That is three dollars and ten cents. Anita: Here you are. That is four dollars and sixty cents. Clerk: Thank you. Is that all? Anita: Yes it is. Thanks for all your help.

Activity #7: Wrap-up Purpose: To discuss your ideas about today´s class Instructions: Work in pairs Discuss the questions presented Share your ideas with the class
