CONTENTS 1.How water helps slow climate change 3. The greenhouse effect 4. Ways we could save water. 5. SAVE OUR PLANET 2. Fast facts

Water has never been more precious. Not only does it supply us humans and all other animals on earth, but it can help prevent CO2 levels increasing. CO2 (carbon dioxide) is absorbed by plants and water. Our planet is getting hotter (the greenhouse effect) meaning the sea and rivers are getting hotter to. Hot water cannot contain as much CO2 as cold water, releasing more CO2 into the atmosphere and making the planet even hotter. SAVE WATER AND STOP CLIMATE CHANGE

FAST FACTS ABOUT WATER 2/3 of our body is made up water Water is the most commonly found substance on Earth Of all of Earth’s water, 97% is salt water in the oceans and seas. Public water suppliers process 37 billion gallons of water a day for public and domestic usage.

The Greenhouse Effect The Greenhouse effect is this; The sun shines on Earth and bounces off it with short wave length. Because there is so much CO2 in the atmosphere, the sun’s energy heats it up and electrifies it causing it to disperse the heat in all directions. Including back down to Earth causing the planet to heat up.

Ways we could save water 1.Have a shorter shower 2.Use one flush 3.Fix leaky taps 4.Turn the tap off while you brush your teeth 5.Don’t water your plants if its going to rain later or the next day 6.Re-use dirty washing up water- you could tip it on your plants.
