What does “Kamikaze’” mean and what was the role of the Kamikaze pilot? The strategy of Island hopping was meant to do what? The Allied Forces lost the battle of The Bataan Peninsula. Describe the events and condition of the American prisoners. Who was Douglas MacArthur? The Battle of Midway was of significant importance to American forces. By looking at the map, determine why this events is called The Battle of Midway describe why it was so important to the victory against Japan. Douglas MacArthur was an American general best known for his command of Allied forces in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

American Admiral Chester Nimitz ordered an attack on Japanese ships at Midway on June 3. The battle was fought with aircraft.
