The Behavioral Contingencies Of Making A bed Wafa Alwaked

 Purpose ;  To reinforce my daughter behavior of managing her bed before going to her school rather than she left it until she come back from school and found her bed arranged by me.

 Goal ;  to make my daughter, arranging her bed properly every day before going to school, to be a nice bed room suitable for her activities (studying, playing & sleeping ….ete ).

 Baseline  * This phase of an experiment (intervention) where behavior measured in the absences of on intervention.  * Baseline data obtained in four weeks.  * During baseline data, I arrange the bed and change bed sheets, that mg daughter left it and go to school, like I usually do.

 * Her behavior was reinforced frequently (she become) depend on me. She go to school quickly, come back from school found her arrange well.  * Having a well prepared (is reinforcing) her to not change her behavior, it doesn't make any different that she left her bed not arrange well, her bed well prepared by her mom.

 * Some times when she come back from school, I start scolding her for this behavior which is not appropriate for her, to escape from scolding she arrange her bed.

Baseline contingency is analog to avoidance of loss of reinforcer.  Before behavior after My daughter will Have arranged Bed today My daughter Disturb her Bed My daughter Will not have Arranged bed today

Intervention  During intervention ``which was 4 weeks`` I told her she must arrange her bed before go to school when she wake up at 6;00 am, rather than 6;45 am. To be more time for breakfast, wearing uniform.

Reinforcement  When start doing her bed properly, I start reinforce her behavior by saying ``good job sweaty`` to enhance better response for her.so when I reinforce her behavior it will occur more frequently.

 Reinforcement contingency  Before behavior after No attention My daughter Arrange her bed Attention

Punishment and escape  When ever I had arrange my daughter bed during intervention, I complain about, so this was additional punishment and escape contingency.

 punishment contingency  Before behavior after No scolding My daughter Disturb her bed Scolding Will hear scolding My daughter arrange Her bed Will not hear scolding Before behavior after Escape contingency

Penalty ( response cost )  Using removal tangible reinforcer (money )  Was more effective with my daughter behavior, so every morning she didn't arranged her bed well, she will loss 0.5 JD ( her money pocket ) for this day

Penalty contingency  Before behavior after My daughter has Her money (0.5 JD) My daughter disturb Her bed My daughter has No money (0.5JD)

Result  In first 2 weeks, intervention process worked very well, she didn't arranged her bed for few days from a whole week. But once there is no reinforcer, she wake up early arranged her bed, eating breakfast,  Wearing her uniform before go to school. After 2 weeks later her bed look tidy, arranged well and her room look nice.
