An anatomical pathology technicians (APTs) role is to provide assistance to a pathologist in conducting post mortems. This is a vital area of work as understanding the causes of death enables promotion of good health in others and in many cases, when death is unexpected, the cause of death can have legal implications. Other responsibilities an APT may have include: record keeping maintaining the mortuary and post mortem room ensuring equipment and instruments are kept clean, sterile and ready for use taking samples for clinical examination keeping track of property ensuring legal documentation is dealt with correctly.

Working condition of a n anatomical pathology technician is similar to doctors. An anatomical pathology technicians has to work in hospitals or in crime branch as a forensic expert. They usually work with their team mates for concluding the causes of death of an individual.

Steps to Becoming an Anatomical Pathology Technician Step 1: Earn a College Degree The level of postsecondary education required for medical technicians in fields like those in anatomical pathology can vary widely. Step 2: Complete a Specialized Technician Training Program Step 4: Obtain Laboratory Experience Step 5: Earn Professional Certification
