Initiatives: 1.Development of QAA standards for practice placements - National 2.Development of the Clinical Practice Placement Support Unit (CPPSU University of Dundee – Local The appointment of Practice Education Facilitators - Partnership working (Scottish Executive, University, Trust)

1. QAA/NES STANDARDS Known as the Practice Placement Standards. Identified Responsibilities of: Student Mentor Service Provider/Trust

2. CPPSU A support structure developed by Dundee University To give information, guidance and support to students and mentors. Information on placement profiles.

3. PRACTICE EDUCATION FACILITATORS To promote QAA Standards Oversee and guide implementation of standards. Give support to: Mentors Students

Facilitators Continued: To enhance and develop the mentor role and responsibilities. To help to develop the learning environment within practice placements to enhance the students learning opportunities.
