Summarizing a story means telling the story in a short way. Make sure to tell the important parts.

Last week we read “Sam, Come Back!” Let’s think about telling that story in a short way. The story was about Sam, a cat, who ran away and came back.

Now we are reading “Pig in a Wig.” Let’s think about telling our story in a short way. Pig ate too much. A woman helped Pig feel better. Pig did a jig.

Don’t forget we learned about characters! In the story “Sam, Come Back!” the characters were a cat, a dog, a woman, and a boy.
